photogallery:039 A lot has happened over the last few weeks. One osprey nest in Weeki Watchi was destroyed during a stome, I have no idea were the pair went to. The owls have all fleged and flown away, one pair of ospreys were able to retake their nest after the great horned owls flew away near the church on Shoal Line. And my last Osprey nest, which I have been watching since Feb 09, is doing great! Because this nest is further back in the woods, and because the pair tends to become agitated by human visitors-you don't get to learn were they are. Some other bird families: the sandhill cranes nesting in the park still have 2 babies and I saw them leaving the park and coming into the residental part of the beach a few days ago-all 4 birds looked great! And the blue jay nest at a friends house has 3 little, ugly babies in it! |
